Epilepsy

Established Petit Mal - The level of award will depend upon whether attacks are successfully controlled by medication and the extent to which the injured party will remain dependent upon medication - £52,500 to £125,800.

Psychiatric Injury

A) Psychiatrc Damage Generally to include  reactive depression, phobias some aspects of PTSD and other psychiatric injuries:

Short duration and less severe effects on daily living, sleep and ability to cope with work life and relationships £1,500 to £5,600.

Moderate psychological injury with good prognosis £5,600 to £18,250.

Moderately severe cases to include many work related stress cases resulting in long term disability preventing a return to comparable employment £18,250 to £52,500.

Severe cases where the prognosis is very poor £52,500 to £110,800.

B) Cases where Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is the sole psychiatric condition:

Less Severe diagnosis of PTSD: Full resolution of PTSD within one to two years or with only mild symptoms persisting. £3,800 to £7,850.

Moderately severe PTSD the injured person will have largely recovered and any continuing effects will not be grossly disabling.£7,850 to £22,200.

Moderately severe PTSD where there has been some recovery with professional help but the prognosis is of significant disability to continue for the foreseeable future.£22,200 to £57,300

Severe PTSD involving permanent effects which prevent the injured person from working at all or at least from functioning at anything approaching the pre-trauma level. All aspects of the life of the injured person will be badly affected £57,300 to £96,500
