Construction Accident Claims

Building Site Injury Compensation Claims Solicitor

Carrs Solicitors specialise in no win no fee construction accident compensation claims. Our work accident and injury clients always receive 100% of the compensation they win.

If you have sustained injury either on a construction site or in the course of any renovation, redecoration, maintenance, demolition or the installation or removal of services such as electricity, water or telephone you may be able to make a no win no fee compensation claim.

Common causes of building and decorating trade accidents include:

  • Falls through weak roofs or floors.
  • Falls from scaffolding, ladders and other high places.
  • Accidents involving machinery such as cranes, lift trucks, dumpers and diggers.
  • Falling objects or debris striking workers.
  • Collapsing structures leading to crushing injuries.

Your employer, the main contractors, the occupiers and other construction workers on the site owe you a duty of care. The regulations also provide that building site workers should expect safe access to their work on the site, that there must be good order and security, adequate measures to avoid the risk of falls from height or the risk of being injured by falling objects, and you should be provided with a toilet and a sink as well as somewhere to eat and hang your coat.

Your employers and the main contractors should take steps to reduce the risk of injury and they must also provide the correct personal protective equipment such as harnesses, hard hats, safety clothing and safety matting. All building site workers should receive adequate training so they do not represent a safety hazard to themselves or other builders.

If you have been involved in a construction accident, you should report the accident to your employer immediately and give details of your accident at work to the hospital / doctor who treats you. Record the names and contact numbers of any witnesses to the accident and to the circumstances or poor working practices that you believe may have caused or contributed to your accident.

Your employer must record the accident in their accident book and will be required to file a report under RIDDOR which may help with your claim if your building site injury keeps you off work for more than three days.

Carrs Solicitors have specialist experience at representing construction and maintenance workers and will be able to discuss the details of the accident with you and will be able to tell you if your claim is likely to succeed.

Why you should phone a construction accident solicitor

Building site accidents can cause more than just physical pain – you may be unable to work at a later stage if your injury becomes chronic and trying to ‘work through' the injury could lead to additional damage.

At Carrs Solicitors we understand the pressures construction workers and builders face when considering making a claim. We can advise you without obligation on the ways of protecting your rights without losing your job. If you have suffered a construction injury that was not your fault then you are entitled to compensation to help pay for medical treatment and ease the financial pressures from being unable to work. Your employer is required by law to have employer's liability insurance in place to cover even minor accidents and injuries at work.

We are available to give free advice on the merits of your construction site accident or injury claim, possible compensation levels, the likely timescale of your case and any related employment law issues seven days a week, including evenings.

Home visits can be arranged within 24 hours notice. To speak to a specialist Building Site Accident Solicitor with Senior Litigator accreditation by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and Employment Lawyers Association membership, call our Bolton office today on 0800 587 0746 , or e-mail us leaving your contact details and we will get back to you.
