Leg Injuries - £1,000 to £200,000
Soft tissue leg injuries with complete recovery - £1,000 to £3,500.
Simple fractures to tibia and/or fibula with full recovery - £3,500 to £6,500.
Simple fracture to femur with no damage to joints - £6,500 to £10,000.
Fractures to legs with incomplete recovery - Where the injured person will be left with metal implants and /or a defective gait, discomfort through sensory loss or an exacerbation of a pre-existing disability - £12,750 to £19,500.
Complicated multiple leg fractures - The level of the award will depend upon the period required off work, presence or risk of degenerative changes, imperfect union on fractures, muscle wasting limiting joint movements, instability, extensive scarring and permanently increased vulnerability to future damage - £19,500 to £38,500.
Serious leg injuries - Damage to joints or ligaments resulting in a combination of instability, prolonged treatment, a lengthy period of non- weight bearing, the near certainty of arthritis and/or injuries requiring arthrodesis or hip replacement, and extensive scarring - £27,500 to £38,500.
Very serious leg injuries leading to permanent mobility problems - £38,500 to £60,000.
Injuries involving extensive degloving of the leg, where there is gross shortening of the leg or where fractures have not united and extensive bone grafting has been undertaken - £65,000 to £100,000.
Amputation of Legs - £62,500 to £200,000
Amputation below the knee on one leg - £62,500 to £90,000.
Above knee amputation on one leg - £65,500 to £100,000.
Below knee amputation of both legs - £137,500 to £190,000.
Total loss of both legs - £165,000 to £200,000.
